Omoyeni Arogunmati is a Painter from Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. She says her paintings are a reflection of her thoughts and life experiences, every stroke an emotive action geared towards making the world a better place. Her love for the arts started from childhood, which encouraged her to study Fine Art at the Polytechnic of Ibadan,Nigeria. She describes her style of painting as Abstract Impressionism - this is evident in her rendition of abstract figures, lines, painting facial emotion forms with beautiful brushline strokes. Her choice of medium is mostly oil, acrylic and watercolor on canvases and paper. For Omoyeni, her archlines allude to the demarcation of access, suggesting the separation of people through physical borders and walls. She also incorporates elements of minimalism and abstraction to create an oeuvre that is distinctly current, and as witty as it is macabre. Omoyeni’s paintings focuses on the beauty of African women. She has parcipated in several major exhibitions including:
"Strength of A Woman" 2019, Terra Culture Gallery Lagos, Nigeria.
"Culture" Consolate Embassy of Brazil 2019 Lagos, Nigeria.
Each for Equal Art Exhibition, British High Commission Residence, Lagos 2020.
ART IN QUARANTINE Lisbon, Portugal 2020.
ART AN ESSENTIAL NEED, Dubai 2020.
Nirantar Art Exhibition in Chandigarh, India 2020.
