Tlhokomelo Designs manufactures handcrafted leather and fabric accessories in Nairobi, Kenya. The brand was founded by Paulina Mokhothu, a Leather Design and Product Development specialist. Paulina comes from humble beginnings, raised by a single mother of four, who struggled to provide for her children and put them through school. Her personal experience growing up with very little inspired her to put sustainability and social impact at the core of her brand's ethos. The brand collaborates with local artisans using recycled materials to create its products, and also offers on-the-job training to women and youth.

Paulina has certifications in Leather Design and Product Development in addition to her BA degree in Social Work (National University of Lesotho) and Masters degree in Entrepreneurship (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology), making her uniquely qualified for the challenge of setting up a leather goods and accessories manufacturer with sustainability and social impact at the centre of its operations.
