eureka!

EUREKA! Originates from the Greek word ‘heurēka’ which means ‘I have found it’. It is said to have been uttered by Archimedes when he hit upon the method of determining the purity of gold.

Being the first born daughter of my parents, my father ultimately yelled "EUREKA!" and told everyone he'd finally struck gold when I was born and I became Eureka Jessica Norvor.

Inspired by my love for culture and arts which was instilled in me by my late grandmother, Janet Hanyabui, as a Queen mother and an avid lover of arts and crafts, she encouraged us (the grand babies) to appreciate the culture and traditions of our people as she made us sort through her wide collection of colourful beads and pearls. We would wear them proudly like little princesses whenever we visited her in the village of Woe in the Anlo district in the Volta region of Ghana, West Africa.

As an adult, my love for arts and crafts made from beads just kept growing but was especially rekindled after my grandmother passed during the Covid-19 pandemic in November 2019. To cope with the grief, I started beading again ( more so during the subsequent recurring lockdowns when everyone was encouraged to work from home) this time focusing more on handbags and accessories. It quickly became clear that I was a natural when friends and family would proudly showcase my designs and the brand Eureka! was born. A brand that greatly reflects the simple yet enlightened and colourful personality of the very designer.

In that same breath, Eureka! as a brand offers nothing but joy and an immense feeling of AHA!

Each Eureka! piece is intricately and tightly woven together by hand using the finest tiny acrylic beads. Bead by bead, we give you the one accessory that makes you feel like you've just struck gold!
