Gladys Semenye, known as Cindy internationally is a Fashion Designer, Textile Technician, Pattern Maker, and Visual Merchandiser. She studied fashion in one of the fashion capital Milan Italy in 2015. In that same year, she debuted her first fashion show at Milan Expo, the collection was themed Fashion and Food. In 2016 she launched her signature brand CSG and in 2018 she debuted at the Turin Fashion Week. September of 2019, she made one of her proudest decision to relocate back to South Africa after 20+ years. A dream she always knew would come true because home is where she always wanted to bring what she'd learned abroad. CSG is a sustainable ladies and gentlemen brand that offers smart casual and elegant wear. Her primary focus is to create a 100% sustainable fashion brand. Currently, the fashion industry is focusing on how brands are implimenting sustainability in their garments construction and textile. Her focus in changing the face of fashion by creating ecologically friendly garments that will stand the test of time in both quality and materials is her ultimate dream. As a textile technician, she has been very determined to find natural and alternative materials that are eco-friendly. Today, 70% of her products are made from biodegradable textiles called WASHI, a Japanese name for paper and recycled EE; her hope is to produce her own sustainable textiles here in South Africa by the end of year 2023.
